Caliper Adapter Kits

The Wilwood kit adapter allows the Mopar racer to eliminate 20 pounds of front end unsprung weight. This kit bolts the Dynalight series of caliper to the disc brake knuckle from 1973 or later cars. This kit works with either the 3402626-7, or the 3402638-9 knuckle casting. The 626-7 came on the 1973 to 1976 A body cars, while the 638-9 casting came on '73 or later B body cars. It was also used on the FMJ body cars. The 626-7 casting is the most popular knuckle since it will retrofit to any 1962 to 1972 B body Mopar. Putting the 626-7 knuckle onto the early B body lets a person run the large 11.75 rotors on those earlier cars. Typically this would cause interference with the sway bar, but since the Wilwood caliper is so small, even that problem goes away with this kit.

This Wilwood adapter kit consists of two adapters plus the necessary mounting hardware.

This kit from AR Engineering allows you to use the high technology Viper caliper with a 13 inch rotor. The Viper caliper is lighter than the factory cast iron caliper and it provides better braking feel due to the four piston design. Since the Viper caliper is a modern high performance design, the pad selection is quite broad. This kit works with the front calipers from any 2002 or older Viper.

The AR Engineering kit contains the parts necessary to hang the older Viper calipers onto the drum brake knuckles found on 1973 to 1976 A body cars. These drum knuckles had a casting number of 3402738.

If you already have the AR Engineering Viper on 11.75 kit then you can use this upgrade kit to install 13 inch rotors. Your existing calipers, hoses and knuckles will all be reused in this kit.

The complete AR Engineering kit contains a set of 13x1.25 inch rotors, steel billet hubs, and hard anodized caliper brackets. We have also included the necessary mounting hardware as well as high quality Timken bearings and genuine Mopar hub seals and dust caps.

17 inch rims will be required to clear the large 13 inch rotors. The hubs in this AR Engineering kit have been designed to work with 17x8 Ford Mustang rims that have 5.72 inches of backspacing and the 2.780 center hole. We recommend part number M-1007-J178 which is the 2001 GT or “Bullitt” rim.
