INDY Cylinder Heads

Thirty years of racing experience and cylinder head and manifold development make Indy Cylinder Head a leading supplier
to the aftermarket industry. They are dedicated to make all Indy racers winners. Their secret? Intake runners with air flow and
volume to supply today’s high horsepower, big cubic inch engines. They introduced raised runners, offset push rods, long
stem valves, correct runner volumes, and engineered compatible engine kits.
Indy’s success has come from a simple principle: you need the correct intake port volume and high flow to create horsepower.
Essential port volume can not be achieved with the shortest valves in the industry (the stock length big block Chrysler intake and
exhaust valves). Volume has to come from a port designed around a longer valve, 1/2” longer to be specific. Indy utilizes a 1/2”
longer valve in their 440 series cylinder heads. This allows the intake port roof to be raised, creating the needed port volume and
airflow to achieve the ultimate result, MORE HORSEPOWER! You can visualize this dramatic difference between the stock 906 head
and the Indy 440-1 head from the diagram above. Indy heads originated on these simple principles and are still manufactured today
with the same ideas in mind (evident in the Legend, 360 and 401 series heads). Indy has boasted about Technology for the New
Millennium, and we believe that our new products demonstrate that this holds true. Indy continues to make great strides in the
aftermarket racing industry time after time with new outlooks and fresh ideas that expand our product line and your product choices.
Our newest product lines that have become available are explained in great depth in this catalog. After reviewing the information
enclosed, you too can see that Indy has not missed a beat, not only in leading the industry but also expanding it into the new
millennium.
